What is Solakonferansen?
Our goal and vision
The goal of Stiftelsen Solakonferansen (The Solakonferansen Foundation) is to gather people from the aviation industry in order to improve and strengthen the safety, quality, and environmental issues within aviation. The conference program focus on current issues in aviation. We believe that gathering people around a common interest may spawn discussions, create new ideas, and hopefully inspire the participants in the continuous work to improve aviation safety. The conference, through its engagement, also aims to convey new knowledge, primarily to the aviation community, but also to areas outside aviation.
Our vision is to promote and underline the importance of safety in its broadest definition and to create an understanding that although safety has a cost, investing in safety will be profitable in the long run.
Who is it for?
First and foremost it’s for anyone with an interest in aviation safety and anyone who might influence aviation safety in a broad sense like; political leaders, authorities, operators, equipment manufacturers, industry associations, unions, research and educational institutions, media, energy companies, logistics suppliers etc.

Solakonferansen remains fully committed in its quest to promote flight safety by once again inviting the aviation industry to share thoughts, discuss opportunities, and enhance aviation standards during our annual conference.
Whether representing an OEM, regulatory body, operator, or the end user, we trust you will find the conference an excellent opportunity to grow your network and solve challenges at hand.
This year we have asked the OEMs to focus on what and how they contribute to environmentally friendly operations within their segment. The oil and gas industry is carefully being watched in this space and many initiatives are in place to minimize environmental impact, the offshore helicopter segment needs to play it’s part and advance technology, operations and procedures.
The conference for 2022 is slightly different than before in that it will kick off with a get-together on the Monday evening with an excellent dinner on the conference premises preceded by a special lecture

The space age has inspired many composers and musicians out through the years. Familiar hits from Pink Floyd, Queen, Deep Purple, Jimmy Hendrix, David Bowie, and REM will be played together with spectacular videos and animations from space. You will learn about space activities, solar storms and the importance of satellites in our daily life. And how will a day without satellites be?
Over the next two days we will hear from the OEM’s and offshore helicopter operations stakeholders, explore unmanned operations (military and civilian), get a glimpse into police helicopter operations, and we might get a glimpse into Mars helicopter operations.
We work extremely hard to ensure that Solakonferansen remain the Flight Safety focal point within the industry, and very much look forward to you joining us in September 2022 for three eventful days!
